Meet Lisette

Lisette Cheresson is a third-year graduate student at SUNY New Paltz currently completing her clinical internship under the supervision of Dianna Chillo. She brings 20 years of professional experience to the counseling space, as a content creator, yoga teacher, grief coach, and death doula. She is also a documentary filmmaker and writer, and the co-author of The Yoga Almanac: 52 Practices and Rituals to Stay Grounded Through the Astrological Seasons. She holds a BA from New York University, and has extensive training in trauma-informed and mindfulness approaches.

Lisette believes that therapy is a powerful tool to access the wisdom we all have within; that therapists are not healers, but guides on a personal healing journey. She is very interested in somatic approaches that address issues from the inside out, and is currently co-facilitating an independent research study on how grievers experience the somatic intervention of Authentic Movement. She practices from an integrated Person-Centered, Narrative, Existential, and Feminist approach. She is grateful for the opportunity to delve into eating disorders and body images issues, and honored to be a part of Dianna’s practice!
