Beyond Behaviors:
Healing the Deeper Roots
of Eating Disorders
A 6 Week Virtual Recovery Group with Dianna Chillo, LCSW-R
You are more than your eating disorder, and healing requires more than changing behaviors.
Beneath restricting, bingeing, purging, compulsive exercise, chronic dieting, and body shame often lies something deeper such as pain, protection, unmet needs, perfectionism, and parts of ourselves that have learned to stay silent.
This 6 week virtual group is for individuals who want to begin exploring the deeper emotional roots of their relationship with food, body, and self.
Using metaphor, guided reflection, journaling, and group discussion, partly inspired by the work of Anita Johnston and her book Eating in the Light of the Moon, participants will gain a deeper understanding of healing and recovery.

Together, we will explore:
• The purpose your eating disorder may have served
• Body image, shame, perfectionism, and control
• Hunger, unmet needs, and emotional deprivation
• Voice, boundaries, self-compassion, and recovery
